About ARCS

Alaska Native-owned. Fairbanks-based. Built for rural Alaska.

Alaska Rural Construction Services (ARCS) is an Alaska Native-owned general contractor based in Fairbanks. We focus on the communities that are hardest to build in — the villages and rural towns where every board, bolt and bag of concrete has to be planned for well before a crew arrives.

We work with tribes, village and regional corporations, tribal housing authorities, clinics and health organizations, and cities and boroughs to plan, build and repair the buildings their communities rely on.

  • Rural logistics

Planning materials and equipment around barge schedules, air freight and seasonal access so the right loads land in the right place.

  • Short build seasons

Scheduling around weather, freight windows and daylight so crews are productive from the day they mobilize.

  • Cold-climate construction

Foundations, framing and building envelopes chosen with wind, deep cold and shifting ground in mind.

  • Straight communication

One point of contact from the first call to the final walkthrough, with clear updates along the way.

What we do

Construction services for rural Alaska

From new buildings to keeping existing ones warm, level and safe.

New Homes

New homes for families, housing programs and community staff — built for cold, wind and remote sites.

Community Halls

Gathering spaces, offices and multipurpose buildings that serve the whole community, year-round.

Clinics

New construction and renovation of rural clinics and health facilities for tribal and regional health organizations.

Foundation Leveling

Re-leveling and foundation repair for homes and buildings affected by frost heave and shifting ground.

Remodels

Interior and exterior renovations that update, repair and extend the life of existing homes and facilities.

Weatherization

Insulation, air sealing, windows, doors and envelope upgrades that help cut heating costs and drafts.

Risk Management

Thinking through weather, freight, schedule and site risks up front, so problems are planned for instead of discovered.
